Sharing Harmony in Malaysia. Next stop, China!

WRITTEN BY: WRITTEN ON: March 13. 2010

I did Team Haamonii proud at my last outing in Malaysia, taking my first top 5 finish at an official Ironman event! My race report is here on my teamTBB blog.

The awards banquet was the first time I got called up on stage in the professional category, and my table celebrated with…what else? A bottle of Haamonii Shochu :D

Harmony was shared with athletes from Japan, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, the UK and Malaysia. It certainly made the awards ceremony more enjoyable than usual!

This weekend I’m competing at the Ironman China event in Haikou, on Hainan Island in China. It is my 3rd consecutive year racing here, but the first time I am getting a crazy amount of media attention as their only professional athlete of Chinese descent. Contrast this with a year ago, when nobody even looked at me twice! The race is tomorrow and the past couple days have been booked with TV and magazine interviews, sponsor appearances, and the press conference. Check out my teamTBB blog for the scoop on how crazy the experience of being famous is!!

The race begins 7am on Sunday, China time–or 3pm Saturday, San Francisco time. You can track my progress online at www.ironman.com…I am bib #26 this time. :D
