May 29, 2008 – SFMOMA Sessions Party

Our night began with excitement and nervous anticipation. We arrived to the event about a half hour early to set up. We were greeted at the back door to the SFMOMA by Cary and Heather…very nice people…great sign. They showed us to the Charles Schwab room where we’d be enjoying the rest of our night. It was a nice large space sparsely furnished with sleek, modern furniture and warm lighting. We met with the the Bartenders Unlimited team who would be mixing up two of our favorite drinks – the Shojito (Mojito made with Haamonii Smooth Pure) and the Mango Delight (Haamonii Smooth Lemon and fresh mango puree). They had already popped a few bottles and started sampling the goods….yummy!! James shared with the team of Bartenders Unlimited a bit of information about Haamonii Smooth shochu and our philosophy of sharing and learning.

Meanwhile the team of Creative Sushi were setting up a huge spread of tasty nigiri and sushi rolls…delish! The team from SAN FRANCISCO Magazine were setting up for their raffle and displaying stacks of their latest issue…check it out. An artist was set up across the room where he would produce fun caricatures of the many visitors throughout the night. The DJ started blastin his cool mix of international, house, and hip hop sounds immediately changing the mood from anxious excitement to a more relaxed party vibe. We did a bit more meeting and greeting with our fellow hosts before the party really got jumpin’.

The party doors swung open and quickly the open space filled with many of the city’s hipsters and those of the it-list. Lines quickly formed at the bar and sushi station where people quenched their thirsts on Haamonii Smooth cocktails and filled their bellies with sushi roll after sushi roll. As the night rolled on, people continued to file into the Schwab room to enjoy more food and drinks after enjoying the various art installations. Our founder continued to do the rounds working the room and sharing information about Haamonii Smooth and our brand philosophy. Meanwhile, I remained in the background enjoying the view. I even got an opportunity to check out some of the various works of art…lots of cool pieces…definitely check it out. I returned to the Schwab room to return to my duties…answering questions about Haamonii Smooth and soliciting feedback of our shochu. Great news…the shochu was a hit!!!

The party quickly came to a close. We packed our things. Said our goodbyes. And made our way out the door.

We had a great time sharing Haamonii Smooth with all who attended. Everyone we met was delightful.

Special thanks to the team of Bartenders Unlimited did a great job mixing up two of our favorite recipes – Mango Delight and a Shojito. Thanks Rhonda and the rest of the Bartenders Unlimited Team…GREAT JOB!!

Special thanks to the SAN FRANCISCO Magazine team…Mollie, Autumn, and Leah were fun and friendly…and terrific about sharing the night with us.

And of course, special thanks to the SFMOMA and their team…let’s party again soon.

To relive the night, check out some of Jessica Whiteside’s photos at the SFMOMA blog.
