This month, we are coming together to help Dana, who was recently involved in a very serious cycling accident, leaving her in the hospital for a week, hundreds of thousands in bills, and possibly permanent limited use of her right arm due to injuries and nerve damage resulting from the accident.

We would also like to raise awareness about the increasing number of serious cycling-related accidents that happen in our city and how they affect individual lives.

We would like to help Dana and make her daily life as easy as possible. We are asking our network to come together to help out; we are thinking outside the box on this one. Help can come in many forms, but here are a few things that we were thinking:

  • Cash to help offset her co-pays, deductibles, or any other out-of-pocket expenses that may not be reimbursed by the driver’s insurance
  • Recommendations for Physical Therapists experienced with this kind of injury (more details available)
  • Recommendations or donations to make her daily life as stress- and worry-free as possible, such as weekly prepared food vendors (Square Meals, squaremealssf.com), grocery and errand services (Task Rabbit, taskrabbit.com)
  • Recommendations to or donations of other holistic health options, such as acupuncture, massage therapy, etc.

The event details are still coming together, but we will be hosting a cocktail fundraiser before month’s end.  Stay tuned for additional details regarding the when’s and where’s.

We also believe whole-heartedly in supporting our local community and supporting causes that help bring about moments of harmony on a larger scale than the individual.

We’re small. We can’t change the entire world (yet), but we can help individuals in our community with their own journeys to make the world a better place for all.

Random Acts of Haamonii is our way of manifesting our desire to help local individuals do their part to bring harmony to the world.

Every month Haamonii will hold a cocktail fundraiser for the individual and cause we’ve selected to support.  Proceeds will benefit the individual involved.

January’s event is benefitting Michelle Dobrow, who has been offered an incredible opportunity in Africa working with developmentally-challenged children. Unfortunately, life marches on even when such great causes are being served, and as such Michelle needs help with expenses back home while she is gone serving a greater good. Haamonii is sponsoring her event to help her make her goals reality.

    Net proceeds benefit the San Francisco Symphony and its education and community programs, providing music education to over 75,000 Bay Area children each year.
